MacBook or MacBook Pro?

Should I buy a MacBook or MacBook Pro seems to be a question I get asked a lot and to be honest it usually has the simple answer; “how much do you want to spend”.
In my opinion both laptops are great, with the main difference obviously been the screen size (13.3″ vs 15″/17″) The latest MacBook Pro now also coming with a LED display, which is more eco friendly, more efficient on battery and also slightly brighter).
I personally use the MacBook Pro 15″ but that’s mainly because I use it for work and can justify the extra expense. I also don’t mind the slight increase in weight and size (I don’t need to use the gym!). The other big reason for me is the keyboard and as I don’t tend to use it much with an external keyboard or display its important for me that both are bigger built in.
For home use only, I think it can be hard to justify the extra expense of the MacBook Pro, especially as I know several people who, if not using it on their lap for browsing the web, plug it into their TV to watch a film.
There is meant to be performance difference between them, but to be honest I doubt any casual user will notice, computers nowadays are almost always faster than user.
In summary then, if you can’t justify the extra expense to yourself, it probably means you will me more than happy with a MacBook. If you still can’t decide, think about spending £200 odd on a really nice monitor to use with the MacBook. Does that make a difference? If not then you obviously want a MacBook Pro!
